Standards and Testing Agency

We take part in lots of activities that help us develop our resilience even further, for example:

  • In KS2 we all learn how to play a musical instrument- it's tough to start with!
  • We take part in sports clubs and competitions and Sports Day in the summer
  • We challenge ourselves on our Y4 and 6 residential trips by trying new activities such as canoeing and camping



At Fairfield we offer a flexible, invclusive environment that meets the needs of all our children. We embrace diversity, celebrate differences and to value and respect ourselves and other people.

  • SHINE time- every child belongs to a mixed age SHINE group, with a maximum of 14 children per group. The groups meet once a week to discuss issues connected to our SHINE motto and other relevant matters.
  • Religious Education and SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) lessons; learning about PSED (Personal, Social and Emotional Development) and The World in EYFS
  • Shining Minds groups

  • Our lift means wheelchair users can access all areas of the school

Clerking Competency Framework

Introduced in April 2017 the new Clerking Competency Framework outlines the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide a professional Clerking service to the Governors.

Four competency areas covered in the new Framework are:

    • Understanding Governance
    • Administration
    • Advice and Guidance
    • People and Relationships

The new Framework recognizes the value of professional quality clerks and realises they are critical to the effectiveness of a governing board in fulfilling its core strategic functions.

Having worked in business (media) for nearly 20 years with both managerial and financial responsibilities, I completed the GSA SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) course in 2015/16 with Fairfield Primary Academy being my home school for the training. I was employed as a class teacher at Fairfield in September 2016 and in addition to my classroom teacher responsibilities am working on a project to streamline the collection and handling of data within school.
